"It started with a kiss, in the back row of the classroom How could I resist the aroma of your perfume You and I were inseparable, it was love at first sight You made me promise to marry you, I made you promise to be my bride But you were only eight years old and I had just about turned nine I thought that life was always good, I thought you always would be mine..."
It didn't but any excuse to quote Hot Chocolate. Please await the random slipping ins of Elton John - Sacrifice in some forth coming songs (without the knowledge of George and Amir).
We all met at university, drunkenly conversing about putting the world to rights with our brand of post Balearic Ibiza anthems mixed with the beats of DJ Shadow and the melodies of Snap cum Spandau Ballet. Sobriety thankfully put that to rest and we all started jamming together.
The years passed and we finally left university. A few tracks were knocked up between us but there was never a sense of direction with them as we just came up with random ideas but not structuring them into a finished song. Then the joys of realising that you're now free to get a temp job to pay for the back packers life changing trip or to fall into your career of choice came along. This period of time hindered our progress again and whenever we had time to meet up we would meet up together in George's studio/bedroom and spend hours locked together in a room building up some sweat together mulling over a few ideas. When people would asked "where's the music?" we could only reply "gone fishing." Ah how we laughed.
We continued to meet up, get drunk and talk about making music. Watching bands was always the greatest revelation that "we need to be gigging man" as that is all our maternal musical homes. Eventually we all settled in the same city (which helps) and have now got our act together. We are still are getting on with life and enjoying it really but aren't sitting at our desks just to bide our time away having day dreams about headlining the Pyramid Stage; but we have started to take this music lark a bit more seriously.
In a nut shell we're (not there... linkage) just making music with the equipment we have, dropping in sounds/styles that we like together as a group, are all trying to aim towards doing a couple of gigs and actually having songs that we are happy with to our name. No more hoarding, no more procrastination and no more fishing!
